Detailed ITINERARY OF THE 12 DAYS MOROCCO GRAND TOUR FROM FES

DAY 1: FEZ WALKING TOUR

We will meet you in Fes and we will begin our Fes guided tour by exploring the old Medina when you enjoy your sweet breakfast. In addition, you will stop at many attractions of the city to learn more about them and shoot photos for souvenirs. The University of Al Qaraouine is the world’s oldest university, and it will make your day fantastic. During your guided tour, you will visit some important places, such as the Boujeloud and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss. Afterward, you will have the big moment to stroll through the well-known Jewish neighborhood known as “the Mellah.” Moreover, you will discover the exterior views of the palace of the king, and so on. A brief time to visit the well-known fabric of ceramics is included in your tour of Fez. After which you can take in a breathtaking panoramic view of Fez city. Your Riad is open for the night.

DAY 2: FEZ –IFRANE– MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA DESERT (463 km)

After a sweet breakfast, you will start your Sahara Desert Tour from Fes. Following that, we will keep going to Merzouga while we are moving to the expansive southeast. You will see the middle atlas will also take a quick break in the wonder cedar forest, which is situated above the middle atlas and is probably where the Berber monkeys live. After dining in Midelt the middle Atlas Pearl, you will cross Tizi N’Telghamt. Furthermore, as you close the city of Errachidia you will notice how the landscape changes while you are still in the open high desert. The characteristics of the desert are briefly introduced as you proceed on your adventure. You will travel via the Ziz Valley and the Tafilalet date palm, which is renowned for its date plantations. The current Moroccan dynasty, the Alaouite was founded in this region. After a long day, you will arrive in Merzouga where you will be welcomed with a nice cup of mint tea and move to spend the night in hotel.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA AREA – CAMEL TREK AND OVERNIGHT IN A BERBER TENT

You will begin your journey of discovery through the area after we finish our breakfast. Then you will visit the Gnawa people to get a taste of their music and way of life. The Gnawa were originally brought to the Americas as slaves from Sudan. Merzouga Lake, with its abundance of birds, is not far away. Additionally, you can also go to the souk in Rissani, a traditional Moroccan town that served as the starting point of the country’s ruling family and the meeting place for caravans that traveled as far as Tombouctou, Mali, to trade. Many hooded men and veiled women can be seen here. After you return to the Merzouga village, you will have some time to rest before mounting your camel and embarking on an exploration of the Merzouga sand under the guidance of an experienced camel. Dinner will be served at our desert camp, where you will spend the night. The camp is furnished with western bathrooms for your comfort.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA DESERT – TODRA GORGES – PALM GROVES OF TINGHIR – DADES GORGES (271 km)

The most amazing sunrise will be visible after your camel guide wakes you up early in the morning. The journey back to the village of Merzouga will then be undertaken. The stunning Erg Chebbi dunes’ singular beauty, which shifts throughout the day, can be seen along the way. You will depart for the Rissani, Tinghir, and Todra gorges, which are Morocco’s highest and narrowest gorges, after a Berber breakfast in your Riad. After lunch in the gorge, we will continue through the Dades Valley, where you can explore the magnificent sand castles and amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes.” We will stay the night in a luxurious hotel with a view of the Dades Valley.

DAY 5: DADES VALLEY – KASBAH AMRIDIL – PALM GROVES OF SKOURA – OUARZAZATE (140 km)

We will leave the hotel after breakfast, and then we will travel to Ouarzazate by crossing some Berber villages like Dades Gorges and Kelaat M’Gouna. The “panoramic road of the Thousand Kasbahs route through Dades Valley provides numerous opportunities to capture some photographs. We will make a stop in Kelaat M’Gouna, “the rose town,” to shop for rose-related things such as rosewater. After that, we will drive you to Ouarzazate through the Amridil Kasbah. It was once home to numerous Glaoui people. Ouarzazate is where you will spend the night.

DAY 6: OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH – TIZI N’TICHEKA PASS – MARRAKECH (193 km)

We will leave the Riad after an early breakfast, and then we will travel to the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will discover the well-known Kasbah, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1986. On this magnificent set, renowned movies like Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, Sahara with Penelope Cruz, etc. have been filmed. In addition, we will travel to Marrakech via Tizi N’Ticheka port, our nation’s highest point at 2.260 m, which is located in High Atlas. DAY 7: GUIDED TOUR OF MARRAKECH

A free day in Marrakech to explore all the previously unexplored areas: The Koutoubia Minaret, the lovely Palace of Bahia, and the Ben Youssef Koranic School are just a few of the historical and cultural attractions you can explore after breakfast in the Riad. Before reaching the well-known Jemaa El Fna Square, finish the morning by strolling through the medina alleyways and taking the opportunity to admire all the various artisans at work. After eating lunch at a restaurant nearby the square, spend the afternoon touring Gueliz, Marrakech’s new city, and the Majorelle Gardens. Indeed, you will have the opportunity to do such activities as walk through the square while being entertained by magicians, and food sellers. We will spend the night in your Riad.

DAY 8: MARRAKECH - AMSKROUD - AGADIR (259 KM)

Wake up in the morning to leave for Agadir, a beautiful coastal city in Morocco, known for its beaches, nightlife, and ancient culture. Here are some of the top things to do in Aagadir: we will visit the Kasbah of Aagadir, a 16th-century fortress perched atop a hill overlooking the city. The views from the top are amazing, and it’s a great place to learn more about the city’s history and culture. Then, we explore the Souk: The Souk of Aagadir is a vibrant marketplace filled with local vendors selling everything from spices to souvenirs. It’s a great place to pick up a unique memento or try some of the local cuisine. Lunch at one of its famous restaurants. You can go to relax on the Beach: Aagadir is home to some of the best beaches in Morocco, so why not spend a day soaking up the sun and enjoying the beautiful coastline? Also, visitors love to experience Sandboarding: If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, then sandboarding is the perfect activity. There are plenty of sandboarding operators in Aagadir offering lessons and equipment. Later, we visit the Valley of the Birds: The Valley of the Birds is a unique nature reserve located just outside of Agadir. The area is home to hundreds of different species of birds, so it’s the perfect spot for bird watching. Around the afternoon, we can take a Camel Ride on the beach: Agadir is the perfect place to take a camel ride, as you can explore the desert and get a unique perspective of the city. DAY 9: AGADIR - ESSAOUIRA (175 KM)

In the morning, we will continue our Morocco grand tour from Fes by departing for Essaouira and its famous fishing port; a world heritage site, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant overlooking the sea. Then, you will start to explore the old medina; the Jewish quarter (el Mellah), the Skalla, and the traditional souks of the city: you will discover art galleries and stalls of traditional carpentry and you will see the fascinating atmosphere and its old streets. In the evening, you will watch the panoramic sunset and have a glass of tea at one of the cafes in the main square, dinner, and overnight at the Riad / or Hotel.

DAY 10: ESSAOUIRA - SAFI – OUALIDIA - ELJADIDA - CASABLANCA (377 Km)

That day will be unique because we will discover the gorgeousness of the Coastal Sea of Morocco. After having our breakfast, we head to the city of Eljadida via the coastal line. Our first stop will be in Safi, where you can explore its old medina, the fishing port, and its famous crafts. Visit the city’s many art galleries and shops to get a feel for the local culture. You can also visit the 17th-century Portuguese fort and its museum, or take a boat trip to see the city from the sea. Then, you head to Eljadida passing by Oualidia, a beautiful coastal city with a rich history. Upon arrival in Eljadida, we will visit the old Portuguese fort, the Grand Mosque, and the cobbled streets of the old town. Don’t miss the chance to sample some of the delicious local seafood for lunch. Later, we continue driving to Casablanca, you will take a guided tour of the city. The First thing to see in Casablanca is Hassan II Mosque, an impressive Mosque built on the margin of the blue sea. Hassan II Mosque is one of the biggest Mosques in the world. DAY 11: CASABLANCA - RABAT - CHEFCHAOUEN (340 km)

After your breakfast, we will leave for the capital of Morocco, The City of Rabat. where we will see together the Hassan Tower and the Oudaya Kasbah. Then, we will head towards Chefchaouen the core of Morocco. you will explore Chefchaouen, or Chaouen called “the blue City”, it is a traditionally designed Moroccan town in the heart of the Rif Mountains, in the northwest, of Morocco. It is well-known for the remarkable buildings in different shades of faded blue of its old town, which feels like a clean and elegant world. It’s one of the cleanest cities in the world and all the inhabitants use to paint their houses with blue color. They believe that the color blue represents the sky which in turn reminds people of heaven and God. While you’re there, you will feel an atmosphere of relaxation, comfort, and peace.
You will start your Chefchaouen visits by strolling the blue streets, seeing the beautiful blue walls, doors, windows & amazing side shops of the old Medina with a lot of amazing picture changes around every corner. For lunch, you will have delicious Moroccan dishes from the north. Then, we continue our visits to the ancient Kasbah Ali Ben Rachid and Plaza Uta El-Hammam. DAY 12: CHEFCHAOUEN - MEKNES - VOLUBILIS - FES (197 KM)

After breakfast, Later, we will drive to Fes, the intellectual capital and one of the oldest cities in Morocco if not the oldest. Today’s drive will reach one of the Imperial Cities In Morocco, known as the Ismaili capital of Morocco ‘Meknes’, we will come across the famous gate of Bab Mansour, the Sahrij Souani Bassin, and the Mulay Ismail Mausoleum. After lunch, we will see the remains of the Romanian Empire, the Roman city of Volubilis, where you will get a chance to see the wonderfully preserved original buildings that date back to the ages, the Roman road, and the city layout. During our through the Moroccan countryside, we will pass by the sacred City of Moulay Idriss to take some memorable pictures. Finally, we arrive at Fes.
